Accessible Staycations

& Weekends Away

Birthday staycation in Melbourne!
And the first stop in my Accessible Staycations & Weekends Away series — Hyatt Centric Melbourne.

From the moment I arrived, things just worked. Smooth, step-free entry with automated doors, a wide open foyer, lift access to rooms, and a front desk height that works comfortably from a seated position (love when that’s thought through).

Hyatt Centric Melbourne clearly shows a commitment to accessibility, with 6 ambulant rooms, 5 accessible rooms, and a spacious accessible suite (yes to options!). I was lucky to stay in the accessible suite, and it genuinely felt easy to use… and a bit luxe.

The space is open plan with plenty of room to move, plus a kitchenette (no stovetop) with a clever side positioned sink and tap and roll-under bench space. Twin bedding worked perfectly, bed height was great for transfers, and having switches and power points right where you need them next to the bed made everything feel effortless.

The bathroom is thoughtfully designed too with roll-under sink, accessible toilet, and a shower with a movable chair and wrap-around rails. Everything is within reach (yes, even the shampoo), and there’s also a bathtub in the suite with grab rails around the outside.

Langlands Restaurant on level 25 serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a happy hour bar with snacks. I loved having everything on site for the days you don’t feel like heading out. The food is delish, the made to order egg station at breakfast is a winner, and the mini cocktails are such a fun idea.

The pool is gorgeous (even though I didn’t get great footage), with a hoist available on request, and the fitness centre is on the same level. Everything is flat and easy to access, with accessible toilets on these levels too.

There are pet friendly rooms available for staycays with your dog, valet parking made things extra easy, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout.

A really lovely way to kick off this series.
Couldn’t recommend it more and I’m so excited to bring you more stays like this.

Invited stay - all access feedback is my honest experience.

This review is part of my Accessible Staycations & Weekends Away series, where I explore accommodation based on real-life access.
