Tucked away in Cremorne @caffe.amatrice and @amatrice.rooftop truly feels like a hidden gem! A weekday cafe on the ground floor and an Italian rooftop restaurant on level 10, each offering a different experience in the same building. And the best part? The rooftop has some of the most spectacular views of Melbourne I’ve seen in a while. Let’s talk access across both!
On the ground floor, the cafe has flat, no-step entry from Stephenson Street, which instantly makes it an easy spot for a coffee or quick bite. Inside, you’ll find standard-height tables plus a larger booth if you’re visiting with a group. The coffee by local roaster @niccolocoffee is genuinely delicious - I loved it so much I’ve since bought a bag of beans for home. If that isn’t an endorsement, I don’t know what is!
To reach the Italian rooftop restaurant on level 10, head through the lobby and take the lift straight up. Once you’re there, it’s all flat with two distinct zones, both with amazing views across the MCG and beyond:
• a terrace area perfect for drinks and the snack menu
• the restaurant side, with plush seating and access to the full menu.
If you’re booking in the restaurant I’d recommend popping a note in your reservation to make sure the setup works for your access needs.
Now for the toilets. There’s no accessible toilet on level 10, and back on the ground floor you’ll only find an ambulant toilet. Staff were helpful and directed me to level 2, where there is a proper accessible toilet. It’s not the most convenient detour, but at least the option is available within the building.
Parking in Cremorne can be a bit chaotic during the week thanks to the office crowd, but it’s likely easier on weekends. There’s a carpark near the Precinct Hotel and one accessible spot nearby on Dover Street.
Great access, brilliant views, and a rooftop that feels unmistakably Melbourne. This one’s absolutely worth adding to your list ☕️🍷
