Another Richmond spot ticked off the list ✔️ and this one is an easy yes for access.
If you’re in Richmond and chasing a relaxed café with great access, this Axil ticks some solid boxes. There’s no step at the entrance and a wide doorway straight off Church Street, so you can roll straight in without that awkward pause at the door.
Inside, the interior is warm with leafy green tones, giving it a calm, welcoming feel. There’s a mix of cafe style seating and booth seating (all standard height). It doesn’t feel cramped or chaotic, and there’s enough room to move comfortably.
I ordered the zucchini, corn and halloumi fritters and they were genuinely delicious, generous, fresh and full of flavour. Axil obviously does great coffee, but the food absolutely holds its own.
The accessible toilet is a big tick. Spacious, easy to find and not hidden up stairs or down narrow corridors.
Parking is limited directly outside, but there’s an accessible street park about two blocks away on Church Street.
There are plenty of Axil locations around Melbourne, but this one feels particularly relaxed and easy to navigate — a dependable Richmond option when you want good coffee and straightforward access.
Save this for your next Richmond coffee run!
