Southeast Asian Bar + Dining

Open 7 days 12pm - late

Melbourne’s CBD just added a bold new player to the dining scene. Serving up Southeast Asian dishes and drinks, Juni Melbourne is another one to add to your CBD dining list - and it gets it right when it comes to both flavour and accessible spaces!

Located on Exhibition Street, you’re met with automated doors, setting the tone for ease of access from the outset. A gradual ramp leads you smoothly into the main restaurant.

Inside, Juni is spacious and colourful! There’s a mix of high and low seating near the bar, with the majority of the restaurant dedicated to dining. Tables are standard height, chairs have backrests, and there’s also some booth seating available. The open kitchen adds a buzz of energy without overwhelming the space, and up the back there’s a more private dining nook with a large table - perfect for small groups or birthday celebrations. The food? Colourful, packed with flavour, and with a good hit of spice. I visited during lunch and found it easy to navigate between tables with my scooter - plenty of space and clear paths to a seat of my choosing. While it was quieter when I visited, I’d imagine it gets busier during peak times, so it’s worth mentioning access needs when booking. That said, even at capacity, it likely wouldn’t feel cramped.

The accessible toilet is a standout, bright teal tiles, large in size, sparkling new, and with a backrest. Major bonus points for style, cleanliness and functionality.

If you’re driving, there’s one accessible park out the front on Exhibition Street and 2 more further down. There’s also one around the corner on Little Collins Street.

The lunch special is a great option if you’re keen to get a taste of Juni without going all out. I’d definitely mark this one down for your next birthday celebration, date night, or city meal out.
