High Tea. Park Hyatt Melbourne
1 Parliament Square,
East Melbourne VIC 3002
Elegant weekend high tea
Saturday + Sunday: 12pm-3pm
Okay, confession: I’d kinda given up on high tea since going gluten-free. Too many sad sandwiches and crumbly scones. But the Park Hyatt Melbourne? They nailed it!
Entry is via a gently sloped ramp at the front of the Park Hyatt. Once inside, the concierge team directed me straight to the lift. From there, it’s a smooth ride up to level 19. Clear signage leads the way to the Park Lounge.
Walking into the lounge is a bit of a wow moment - think floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the space, offering sweeping views over Melbourne! Plenty of room to move around, no awkward squeezing between tables. The floor is carpeted but smooth to move over, and seating is a win: comfy lounges for lounging (obviously), or chairs with backrests and armrests right by the window. It felt calm and comfortable.
I didn’t manage to see an accessible toilet on level 19, but the accessible toilet back on ground level (opposite the lounge) gets a pass. It’s not the biggest and doesn’t have a backrest, but the grab rails are there and it’s workable.
Parking is surprisingly easy! There are two accessible spots right near the step-free side entrance on Cathedral Place, and another three further up the street. The Park Hyatt also have their own carpark if street parking isn’t available.
This one’s a little bit fancy, a little bit fabulous – and absolutely access friendly. If you’ve been avoiding high tea because of dietary stuff or dodgy setups, I totally recommend giving the Park Hyatt a go ✨🥂🍰
